I do not have a workshop and so my maintenance service is limited to ‘set ups’ and not ‘repairs’. I deal with truss-rods, intonation, re-strings, action, tremolo systems, minor fret problems and general set up of guitars, with view to getting the best possible playability from them.

I do not deal with any bodywork or electrical problems.

If you are a pupil of mine you automatically get your guitar set up free of charge, during your lesson time.

To set up a guitar for anybody who is not a pupil, I charge £23 – the same hourly rate I charge for tuition, as an hour is a pretty accurate average time taken for a complete set up.

I used to do all the guitar maintenance for Speed Music in Newport, until both the shop and I got too busy and it became impossible for me to continue.

Amongst my many previous set ups have been guitars/basses for Feeder, Flowered Up and the original white Washburn guitar used in the first ‘Wayne’s World’ film.
